Default Active model seats split

I'm considering a low mileage 2009 xc90 active which is suffering with the common fault of a split in the faux leather on the seat base on the drivers seat.
Its putting me off a bit to be honest as the leather in my ten year old V70 is still pretty perfect.
My options as I see them, other than not buying an active model are replacing the interior with leather from another model, getting the seat repaired or fitting some sort of seat cover.
Can anyone put my mind at rest,is the rest of the XC90 up to a reasonable quality and has anyone had their seats successfully repaired or fitted a a decent set of seat covers.

Cheers Paul.

Does seem to be an issue in the Active models, my MY2005 SE car with fast approaching 240,000 miles on it still has a pretty much wear free driver's seat. How about swapping for a set of Exec/SE seats?

Swapping the seats is definitely an option,it's just wobbled me a little on the overall quality.

Paul, don't let the condition of the seats put you off, it's a great car. I brought my 2007 xc90 earlier this year with 67,000 miles and the leather on both front seats was very cracked. The car however has been superb and exceeded my expectations. I asked Volvo for a quote to supply new genuine leather seat skins to directly replace the originals but they wanted £300 for each front seat. As a result I decided to have them refurbished by a leather specialist which cost about £200 for the two seats together. The chap who did mine wasn't that good and wouldn't recommend but others here have had their sets successfully refurbished elsewhere. Having read the link above and seen how straightforward it is to remove and replace the seat skin I'm now considering buying brand new ones again from Volvo and fitting them myself. I'm a perfectionist and I can't stand seeing cracks in the leather as they look ugly once dirt collects in the cracks (mine are cream leather)

So in answer to your question... I'd buy the xc90.

What colour are the seats? Mine are cream with grey piping. To be honest I don't think yours will match my interior as my executive seats have a specific stitching pattern. Like to see some photos of the ones you are selling though.

And I have a complete set of seat covers from a an XC90 active - drivers is split but the passengers front seat base is a direct swap. I had my seats re-trimmed in leather after mine split.
