Post V60 footrest too far back?

After a 500mile round trip today I can no longer manage the badly positioned left footrest on our V60 twin engine. For some reason the designers made it level with the other pedals, rather than set back to allow you to "rest" your leg. - I know a crazy idea!

Ended up driving sitting far back to try and extend my left leg or resting it between the pedals, which I hate.

I know it's integrated into the carpet, so my thought is - do manual V60's have one in the same place or is it less obtrusive? I'm wondering if I can get a manual carpet and swap it round?

If not, Stanley knife out and cut it back. Anyone else feel the same way?
Its an 2017 TE V60 hybrid for reference.

The manual cars don't get a footrest, not enough space. I missed it at first coming from a P2 S60, doesn't bother me now, left foot goes under the clutch pedal. LHD manuals and automatics get a left footrest.

Thanks, might simply swap the carpet then. It really is too high to be comfortable.

When I removed my front seats I found a small plastic packer. It sat within the seat track on top of the thread used by the power seat. I removed it and it allowed the chair to move back further by an Inch. Worth a try if you need more leg room.

I also have the same car as you, although the height doesn't both me, coming from years of owning manual geared cars.

I do know that the footrest is higher in the PHEV and Twin Engine cars than the standard V60s, as the Volvo All weather mats do not quite fit in this area. I think this because the high-voltage cables run beneath the foot rest so it needed to be raised. I may be wrong though, just be mindful of this before attempting modification
