In tank fuel pump differences
Hi, I believe the in tank pump on my 2011 V60 D5 is on its way out, it takes an age to start when warm,, less so when cold but still not instant.
The in tank pump on my car is a beige colour, looking at used pumps on ebay these seem few and far between... Most of them being white in colour with the barbs facing up.. Where mine face horizontal to the passenger side. I assume a pump is a pump... Does anyone know if its possible to replace this one with one of the more common white pumps? Also are the 1.6/D2 etc. Pumps the same output as the D5 or do they put less pressure out? Someone also mentioned a mondeo mk4 pump was the same but I've no idea if this is true. If anyone can give me some ideas id be really grateful, just don't have the money for a new pump. |

Ideas...from a guy who got one diesel engine running in his life....a Volvo marine engine!
Determining if your pump is bad or not has to be the economical first step. Have you ruled out clogged filtration? I believe pressure checking a diesel system would be the next step. I read some systems have a high pressure pump after the "regular" pump. |
