Wipers running all the time.
I used the car yesterday and all was fine. Just come to use it again today and as soon as I turn the ignition on the wipers start working. Doesn't matter what position the stalk is in the wipers are going and won't turn off. Fine if I want to drive in the rain but not so good when, if it ever does, stop raining. Anyone got any thoughts. Car is kept outside so I am assuming the wind has managed to blow some water in somewhere it shouldn't be.
Thanks Patrick |

The wiper motor IIRC earths through one of the bolts that it in place . So check there for water ingress. It could be that your scuttle drains are blocked so water has stacked and shorted the system.
I understand that the stalks themselves can fail. I think there is a how to replace the stalk in stages on here, ang on....... ................ http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=54850 There ^^^^

It could also be the self parking switch or wiring. My mini did the same, and it turned out it wasn't switching off when it got to the park position, so it just kept going.

Thanks guys. I'll wait for a break in the weather and have a look as you suggest.
