Wiring diagram - now in colour!
I'm trying to produce better quality wiring diagrams for my car after getting a sore head tracing stuff out on the black and white stuff available.
I have only done one for the fuseblock, ignition switch, headlight switch and local relays so far. If anyone spots glaring mistakes or has ideas to be incorporated please let me know! Sorry about the pdf format, it gave the best resolution. Cheers, Cap.

This is a really good project - keep going. When tackling electrical problems you need all the help you can get to make sense of the maze of wires - and this is a good visual aid. When you finish, could the final colour versions be put somewhere permanently accessible on this site? John |

I'm sure they could. I'm working from the schematics I found on the net a while ago and the link to those are in the articles section.
Due to the time it takes I will envisage only be doing the one full set of 1988's, but it would get you started on later models as well I'm sure.

If you could use someone to contribute to this, Captain, let me know - what prog are you using - photoshop or illustrator or what? I have many years experience on all those progs and would happily help. For the purpose of making a useful resource for the rest of the 200 community.

I'm doing them on AutoCAD. The first one took ages, but now I have all the polylines, plot styles and symbols setup it should go faster.
Thanks for the offer of help, I'll have a mull. One of the reasons I am doing this is to get familiar with the loom. I'll look and see if there is something I don't plan on doing relating to EFI or something. Cheers! Cap

OK Captain
Autocad is one prog I haven't used - so that's not helpful for you. Is the wiring plan you're working from better or more hi-res than those in the Haynes manuals? I can think of a very easy way to colour of them with Photoshop - it wouldn't be quite as nice as yours, but it'd be usable and quick to produce. Anyway - if you decide to delegate any sections of it out, I could probably do sections which looked virtually the same as your work using Illustrator. John |

It would also be useful to have both wiring and circuit diagrams, the latter make it much easier to understand how bits of a circuit work. |

I am working from the diagrams you get from the link in the articles section, specifically the 1988 ones. If you fancy having a crack at anything else I'm sure it would be appreciated by many! The good thing with CAD is that I can draw all the diagrams in what's called model space and link them all up, then print them out individually from paperspace.
rtbcomp: anything you have would be great to have access to, the stuff available is generally rubbish, especially the Haynes stuff. Even if you blow that stuff up to A3 you still can't read it.
