  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

I think its a wheel bearing.

There may be no play or normal whirring sounds, but it could still be squeaky/noisy, but not bad enough to make a constant whine.

You might get away with just undoing the driveshaft bolt and the turning the steering to full lock but access would be tight.

Another option is to also undo the lower ball joint and pull the control arm down, this will let the whole hub assembly pull forward and the driveshaft slide out. No need to do anything with the brakes.

If in doubt YouTube has a few videos showing driveshaft replacement that demonstrate what I'm on about.
