Default 1800 wanted for hire

I would like to hire a Volvo 1800 (not ES) for a few days in September (all been well). There are several hire firms advertised on the web but they dont seem to have this model. Does anyone know if such a service exists in the UK? I cant afford to buy one but it might be nice to drive one around for a few days. Thank you.

I kind of agree, Pez, but then again if the price is right then making some occasional income from your pride and joy might help pay for its upkeep. There is a firm down in London now that lets you do what you might call peer-to-peer car hire. Someone sees your car, registers with the scheme and says, 'I'd like to hire your car' and if the car owner is registered too, then it can happen. The company handles all the insurance and stuff.

If you hired out your car for a week at, say, £500 for the week, plus a vast deposit to cover problems (maybe another £500 at least) then that might pay for, say, having the seats retrimmed or the cylinder head reconditioned, or whatever.

Just a thought....

Ah, you have an estate. I have 2 tons of soil I need to shift - any chance of a loan?

(Just kidding).

Alright, Pez, you win....Just been looking at the pics of your resto job on the Estate - looks fantastic. I think if I were you I'd be looking at setting up a chauffeur service!

I think the OP was asking about businesses rather than individuals.

I haven't used the following company, but did a google search for Volvo 1800 hire and came across this:
http://www.starcarhire.co.uk/movie_tv_saint.htm. No idea of price. Maybe worth a call?
