Default XC60 MY20 Brake System/Pedal Issue

Hi

Was wondering if anyone has experienced or is aware of a particular issue I am experiencing on my XC60.

More often than not upon starting the car with your foot on the pedal, it makes some strange noises like actuators are engaging and disengaging, this is also coupled with the pedal going firm then normal then firm as if the servo is playing up.

A few press of the pedal and it sorts its self out and returns to normal operation and feel throughout the drive.

Any known issues or experience with this from anyone on here.

Advice and comments welcomed 😀

Thanks in advance

Not quite sure whether it’s the same problem but mine (MY22 S90 Recharge) does something similar as well. I would say 6 times out of ten when I unlock then get in the car, put my foot on the brake and it’s very firm, hardly moves a quarter of an inch. Then I twist the starter knob and when ignition comes in it goes back to normal. Same noises as mentioned above, the difference is I only have to press it once, and as you say fir you it takes a few presses so not sure 🤔
I’ve never had this on any other car but for some reason I never really thought too much of it. It would be nice to know whether it’s normal or first symptoms for something potentially more problematic.

Sounds like it could be the same issue, it’s definitely some that has developed over my ownership of the car. Sometimes it only requires a single press to get the pedal back to normal, I think I might try and see if not touching the pedal after starting changes anything. Might get it looked at by the dealer to see if it’s a known issue with any bulletin/fixes 🤷🏻

Yeah probably good idea, mine’s going in on 30th for a high voltage coolant heater replacement so I’ll probably get them to look at it as well. I’ll let you know if I get a proper diagnosis or explanation 👍🏼
