That is good news I'm so pleased for you and not too far to go to.view and drive it home.

Sounds like the perfect project: good enough to use but bought as a project for the future. It will be perfect timing for when the garage is finished.

Many thanks chaps to all those responses and input over the last what seems, years of hunting for a 145.

I won't count my chickens though, till she's all bought and paid for, and more importantly were both safely back home all in one piece.

Thankfully my breakdown covers me as a driver, rather than specific car, and as far as I can see no car age limits👍👍

A rather nervous train trip to P'Boro awaits, with an even more nerve shredding solo drive home. Backpack toolkit

Will of course post an update once back with some photos of the 'warts' and then the regret can commence.

As for you BicycleBoy, don't know whether to thank you, or curse you, only time will tell😀😀

Cheers

Good stuff. Check the OS inner wing as well, some issue there with the height of the wing to bonnet. Front underneath bonnet trim is missing too. I have decent front wings and NOS grill if looking for them. Those mirrors I sold a NOS pair for £1000. 👍

Have faith Steve.

I always work on the principle: 'If it feels right, then it is right'. You have taken your time, looking at some promising cars that did not meet expectations. You have learnt what to look for along the way and approached this purchase with your eyes wide open and seen behind the glossy cosmetics. You now have what you wanted, an early 145, with known history and a good basis to work on to fully restore. I seem to remember it was a long held ambition to restore a car, not just maintain a good one. You are now starting a new chapter, finishing the garage and then embarking on the project. Good to see that some of the missing trim was in the boot!

Hi Mitch,

I don’t think it will be long before I start a ‘parts needed’ list, yes the OSF bump that distorted the bumper has damaged the outer part of the sidelight, so needs a new lens at best, and perhaps the whole lamp. Grill edge will hopefully reshape relatively simply, famous last words….

Yes the seam between inner wing and front panel needs reshaping too.

Bonnet trim is in the boot😀😀

I may indeed need to raid your parts store, nice price on the mirrors👍👍

Cheers

Hi Dave,

Many thanks, and yes it’s been quite a lengthy search, vendor had done a pre MOT and sticking brake was done yesterday, so he’s hoping to get ticket tomorrow, then she’s ready.

Hopefully will be one day early next week, but have yet to fess up to er indoors😀😀

Cheers

Been following your search from the beginning, glad you've found "the one".Perhaps at the appropriate time you could begin a new thread detailing your journey through the restoration?
