Danny Hopkins' 164 For Sale
Hi
For anyone who's read Practical Classics ( I love it) recently, you'll half know this car.....the editor's....lots of work done and I'd be tempted if it weren't for the auto box http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-164-...25.m3641.l6368

Cheap enough for a useable car.
Often called the Swedish Wolseley 6/110, you wouldn't find one of them now for two grand! |

There's been lots of welding done - from memory bonnet hinges, inner rear arches, the fan shaped shocker mounts replaced, front wings by the looks of it.
Maybe I'm being soft, but the guy's reputation is on the line if he sells you a ****ter I'm not his mate or anything, I just thought it was funny that the car that I sit and read about on the toilet, is now up for sale......

The welding has been done by a friend of mine Michael coman. One of the best bodywork fabrication people I know.

Billy, there's nothing wrong with a 40+ years old car having lots of welding. Far better than a rotbox being squeezed a "friendly" MoT so it can be driven about daily and put all other road-users at risk
Being a 164 owner I value the second-opinion that a proper MoT provides: peace of mind that almost everything important has been checked by a competent engineer. Like I think pre 1959 cars not needing MoTs now is lunacy. P |

Love the choice of main picture on the ad!
I saw Danny before Christmas, when the PC lot were up here in Cumbria for their winter warmers thing, and he was trying to do a deal with me, where I'd end up with that motor and possibly a caravan. I'd have had it, if I'd had space in my life for another motor!
