Does anyone want a Volvo 340?
I am not used to using thes type of forums so I hope that this is in the right place.
My father-in-law died in Nov 2008 and since then his green Volvo 340 H Reg automatic has been sitting on the drive. You can imagine its appearance now, dirty and flat tyres. We are looking for the log book and keys amongst his effects. Essentially does anyone want to collect it and have it? All we would ask is on your honour to make a donation to H4H. It is on a private drive in South West London. I hope I haven't broke any forum rules by 'advertising' but I don't want to give it to any old scrapyard. Regards Kevin |

No i'm 100% confident you haven't broken any posting rules in advertising this, i'd imagine most people to be quite appreciative of your offer.
I'll say this though, the best place to get a taker i would wager to be : http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-u...f8d89fe7730124 Rather than here. Good luck!

If it wasn't nearly 500 miles way I'd be there tomorrow.
Good luck though, 340 Varios are quite sought after, don't be tempted to get rid of it the easy way, you do have a number of options, as mentioned 300mania, many other forums, and if your that way inclined ebay that would open up your customer base too, well at least to western Europe. Remember that these cars are the last in a long genetic line of belt driven cars originating from The Netherlands initially as DAF, so potentially your car could become a donor for cars such as the DAF 44/55/66(later Volvo 66). Also Italy, the Indian sub continent and the pacific rim all have enough cheap metal to make household appliances with, the world needs your Volvo 340 as a Volvo 340, not 1000kg of mixed scrap. I do hope it finds a good home soon. Rusty |

You don't have any pictures do you Kevin? I'm still after a CVT... but currently have less driveway than cars so have to be careful what I take on.

Don't think anyone would mind even if you had bent the rules, given the circumstances! I hope it can go to a good home, it sounds like it could make a nice car being a late model. I'd be interested in seeing pics too.

Thanks for the replies folks, I will try and get some photos(have to engage son No.1 for that sort of technical stuff) but it won't be until after 6th June.
I note your comments about not giving it away easily and that it may have some value. Even so the original offer still stands and there has been a show of interest. I asked for a charity donation in trust so I cannot renage on my offer. Seems pretty poignant now after yesterdays events. Regards Kevin 'RIP Dmr Lee Rigby 2nd BN RRF- a better man than me' |

I live in Streatham & work in Sydenham; if the car's not hidden in the wilds somewhere I'd be happy to come along & give it a look, if only to provide others with more information.
