ISM failure? Options?
Hello all,
Hoping for some advice and hopefully someone who has had a similar problem. Bought a 2014 V70 D4 manual and was told the infotainment was working fine but an error message about power save mode came on and the system hasn't switched on since. I've spent about 6 hours on Google and hoped that the XC90 fix was going to be relevant in regard to changing the caps out on teh PCB. I've since spoken with 3 specialists who said this probably isn't going to work due to it only being 7 Y.O. I have no display at all. Climate works but no idea what's going on setting wise. BLIS, Stereo, parking sensors, right hand side steering wheel buttons, USB etc does not work at all. Also error for stop start and city safe? Lights and indicators are ok and cruise seems to work ok. BLIS does flash 3 times but it doesn't work. So I've charged the battery, no good. Engine running at 14.1v, no good. Pulled the green fuse, no good. Pulled and checked all the fuses - none blown. Unplugged battery for 4 hours, no good. Taken apart ICM check PCB - looks good. Removed screen and just plugged in PCB - no good. Checked the screen with a torch - absolutely nothing displaying. No sign of water ingress near the fusebox Have read the codes with a generic reader and got: U0156(00) Raw code: C15600 ECU: DIM (HS-CAN)[Archive (inactive)] Status: Confirmed, Test failed since last DTC clear OBDII: Data bus, information centre A - no communication U0301(41) Raw code: C30141 ECU: CEM Status: Test failed, Test failed (current drive cycle), Pending, Confirmed, Test failed since last DTC clear OBDII: Software incompatibility - engine control module (ECM) So if I can't use a scrap part due to security lock, and it's unlikely I can refurbish my unit is the only option to pay the dealers mega bucks? It seems there are ways around programming used parts but Volvo don't approve in the UK? I've checked the wiring of the amp and looks fine. Connectors on the back of the ICM are good too. I'll have a fibre optic bypass cable tomorrow hopefully. So has anyone successfully repaired their PCB on a late P3 V70? Did you have similar symptoms and was it just a cap change? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by steedy87; Dec 3rd, 2021 at 17:18. |

Update
No light from the fibre bus to the ICM in or out on ignition on. Does anybody know the MOST order on a 2014 P3 V70 with premium audio? |

Have read codes with VIDA
DIM-U015600 Lost Communication With ICM CCM-U015600 Lost Communication With Infotainment control module When testing modules there was no light in MOST to ICM connector. When I unplugged the AMP under drivers seat and used a bypass more modules went red in VIDA. So given it's the ICM that is logged as faulty is it likely to be that or is it purely that the ICM is first in the loop so it can't test any further? |

It was a faulty ICM.
Pretty sure it's the 6v rail, will solder new capacitors and check. I had to crack the CEM with VDASH which tool 23H15mins, then pay 26 euros to disable MOST lock and then I could use my good used ICM unit. That took far too long! |
