Preston extreme - to the right concentrate. I use empty containers and make a summer mix in one and a winter mix in an another.

I'll be passing a local Volvo dealer tomorrow so I'll grab some branded concentrate, and I'll probably also order some Prestone too so I can perform a comparison of my own over the course of this season.
very wise , volvo wash fluid is sprit based so leaves no deposits whatsoever therefore it does not block up jets especially the heated ones . It will protect to -28C with a 50-50 mix . details on other mixes on the back of the bottle .
a 33% mix should do for UK ( -18C )

I use Halfords concentrated and have done for many years without any problems and the 5L bottles are reasonably priced.
I also have emptied containers with diluted mix in. The strength depending upon the time of year.

I've just bough some Mannol concentrate - so far so good & it appears to be spirit based too. Supposedly good for down to -70'c.

After trying concentrates and Prestone etc I now buy 5 litre bottles of BMW branded which I think is very similar/the same as Volvos - they dont like selling the 5 litre one and would much rather sell you expensive 1 litre ones - I have to remind them of the parts number every time... what's the largest size you can buy the Volvo stuff in?
