Default Is it possible to reset the BMS?

Similar experience to Org.
XC70, 2011.D5 AWD Geartronic ajsro.
Admitted battery was allegedly new when car was bought used from main dealer in 2017 but is replacing the battery the only cure to this very annoying message and subsequent shutting down of electrical systems
The battery voltage is still good (12.6V ) and no problem turning the engine over to start.
Is there a BMS reset procedure without replacing the battery?

I bought my V70 in Feb. One of the first things I did was replace the battery. Not sure on the age and it was weedy. I replaced it with the biggest I could get, according to the handbook. However, wasn't aware of the reset I might look into this. 59 so is a 2010 car I believe. 205 ps d5. Euro 5.

I've just had the battery replaced in my 2008 XC70. Not by a Volvo dealer, by the way.

Do I need to do some sort of reset to tell the system what's happened? What difference would it make if I don't?

Thanks

I've replaced the battery once and disconnected the battery many a time on both my '08 S80's, and have never had any issues. I wasn't aware there was a reset, or under what circumstances it was required. Maybe only on the MY10 onwards variants?

There is a video on YouTube showing a reset on the battery by unplugging the little plug that is connected to the negative terminal for around 10 seconds whilst the car is running then reconnecting it, it has worked for some people but didn't for me .

One of the links shows the car running and the the other shows a procedure from a Volvo technical bulletin, I tried both but neither worked and I had to change the battery in the end.
I think the voltage has to be 12.7 it's only a small difference but may be critical someone more technical may be able to confirm this.

Mine had a standby battery connected whilst the car battery was replaced so there was no interruption. I wasn't sure what would be needed if it was disconnected. I'm still scarred by radio codes, and the like, from many years ago. Mine was done by my local tyre and battery place and the guy there didn't know about resets, etc.
