2002 S40 1.8 NON GDI for sale

Let me start by saying this is a very regrettable sale of a very good and tip top example of a ever rarer car. We have between us as a family got 6 Volvos and room is running out so one has to go.

This one came to us in 2019 from an exceptionally good home where for most of its life was dealer maintained. It wanted for nothing and anyone on here knows me will tell you how anal I am at keeping my cars up together.

So this 1.8 petrol has had a lot of work done since 2019, all using genuine Volvo parts including services, timing belt, water pump, tensioners, full PCV overhaul, discs and pads all round, hand brake cables, non genuine reconditioned rear callipers, and for this MOT has had new rear springs, new top suspension arms, 2x brand new cooper discover mud/snow tyres on the front and a service only today.

The car comes with heated seats, fully regassed and working air con, built in sat nav that comes with the discs, electric windows all round, electric mirrors, front fogs, cruise, trip computer, heated rear screen. The best bit is it all works as it should!

The outside of the car was going to be on the to do list. There obviously for a 19 year old car are going to be marks and dings, the bottoms of both doors have been repainted at some point and the front off side wing is a slightly different colour. There is a ding in the bonnet and in the near side rear just under the tail light. There seems to be quite a bit of what I think is possibly tree sap on the body which could do with coming off at some point. Again I have included as many photos as possible. The near side lower part of the front wing is a little blistered.

Underneath is absolutely spot on, no rot whatsoever.

Mechanically it is spot on, all the hard work is done and as anyone who knows these cars the PCV is a ball ache of a job to do. Like I say I have just done an oil change today using genuine oil and filter. Included in the sale is a set of spanking new plugs. I have included a lot of invoices so you can see just how much we have spent on this old girl getting it up to the standard it is today!

Inside is virtually immaculate, there are no fag burns or holes, the car has NEVER been smoked in and the car is standard. None of the switches are sticky though a couple have discouloured. The passenger seat base stitching has started to come away but is really nothing major.

I honestly dont think you will find one as well looked after with all the big horrible and expensive jobs done to it, all the fluids are good for a long time, genuine coolant was used when timing belt was done, brake fluid was replaced when the rear callipers were done, oil has just been done too. With a full years MOT you could jump in this old girl and it will get you where you need to go with no fuss whatsoever! Car has 122614 miles on the clock.

Im looking for around £1200 and I will leave the tax on and enough fuel for the new owner to get home. I can also deliver this car anywhere in the UK for the cost of the fuel and the train fare home.
