Default MY12 V70 Footwell lighting switch?

Quick question; can I turn off the lighting in the footwell which remains on even when driving? It's distracting when driving at night and I don't need to see my feet to know what I'm doing with the pedals

I may be wrong with the MY12 model, but they should go off automatically, they did with my 59 plate, sounds like you have a fault.

They should go on and then off with the rest of the courtesy lights whenever a door is unlocked or opened.

On my MY2012 V70 they are on when the lights think it is dark outside (satnav is in night mode) and stay on unless you dim the panel lights right down Then they go off.
There are no footwell light in the back. Anyone know if they can be added?

Has anybody found a way of turning the footwell lights out with the engine on without dimming the instrument panel lights all the way down?

I also find it distracting and until I read this I thought it was a fault, but maybe I'm stuck with it!
