Default A bent bonnet.

Hi guys, anyone know if there is anything i can do remedy this clusterf**k?

the kink goes right through the actual framework of the bonnet, not just the skin.

i think i am going to need an entire new flathood bonnet, which is a pain, but i though id ask around to see if anyone else has been stupid enough to try and force shut a bonnet with rusted stiff hinges. (all moving freely now, but too little too late!)

Blimey..If you dont mind me asking..how did it happen, siezed bonnet hinges?..Perhaps you could remove the bonnet to straighten it..Looks a difficult repair.A replacement bonnet might be the easiest option and if it was stiff bonnet hinges you may want to replace them as well..good luck hj.

You see this quite often.
Solution to avoid it is very simple: lubricate the bonnet hingepoints once a year.

For a sheet metal worker it won't be a problem to fix your bonnet but it will cost some time and money.
Mount another bonnet might be a cheaper option.

The damage had already been done before i bought the car, but i made it a lot worse the day i got it home, I opened the bonnet to inspect my lovely new b21, then couldn't shut it.

Just had a look at the hinges this afternoon, the driver side one is totally shot, bent right out of shape, not too sure about the passenger side, i might be able to save that one, but for $90 i can get two brand new ones from yankeeland.
