Default 2002 S60 D5 - Stalling

I am otherwise delighted with my new toy but I keep stalling it when starting off from low speed.
This is mainly in 2nd gear but occasinally in 1st.
The engine just dies as I let in the clutch.
I have never had this with any other car (petrol or diesel) and wonder if anyone else suffers the same problem.
Could it be clutch action (thrust on crank) or engine management system??

I have had this happen occassionally on my S60 and I had put this down to "driver error". Now I have seen your report, I begin to wonder. I had assumed it happens because I had not given enough revs when letting in the clutch. Normally you don't need too many revs due to the inertia of the diesel engine but it does seem to catch you out on the odd occasion (probably once per week). Hopefully this should reduce as I get more familiar with the car and this now seems to be happening. I have now done 4000 miles from new.

Hi

There are software updates available to cure various driveability problems. If you car is within the chassis numbers that the software is applicable to then it will go into your car. Take your vehicles to Volvo to find out.
