Looking For Door Sill Covers

I am presently giving my 1990 740SE a major cosmetic set-to and am trying to find a source of black plastic or rubber door sill covers in the UK, in either bespoke or universal fitment.

So far I have drawn a blank. The suppliers of the stainless steel ones don't cater for Volvos, and in case they would look terribly 'bling-bling' on a 740SE, which has very little brightwork.

I once bought a proprietary sill protector kit (From Halfords) which was made of self-adhesive backed rubber and came on a roll. You had to cut to fit your particular car. It looked good and worked very well, but I can't find it in any accessory shops. Is it still available?

I know that there is a product called 'Stepshield' available in the States to cover sill steps, but I don't know whether or not I can get it shipped to me...

Does Volvo carry any sort of sill protector for the 700?

Yes they do, part no 9166035-7 and are silver with small stripes, says Volvo.

That's very useful information, George. The Volvo covers sound very similar to the ones that are fitted to Rovers- Very nice!

Do you know how much they would cost?
