What's The Most Disappointing Car You've Owned/Driven?

Bad - 1. VW Beetle on loan while I was getting a camper serviced, many years ago. The Beetle was horrible - steering seemed to have no self-centring at all so going round corners was hard work.
2. Citroen DS21 - beautiful car but heating was so rubbish I had to wear gloves and an overcoat to drive it in winter.
3. Fiat 600 - like driving a food processor, with you as the food.

Good - 1. P reg 850R - very nice interior and went like a bomb.
2. 2CV - slow but good fun and amazingly capable. Towed a tent trailer around France several summers.
3. Current beast - 2006 V70 D5 AWD - really good for long distances in Europe. Comfortable, quick, handles well, lugs loads - best car I've ever had and it's going to have to do many more years as I can't see a viable alternative on the market at the moment. I don't like the shape of the current V70 - previous one was a really nice looker IMHO. Maybe an Audi A6, but I'll need a lottery win!

Not having the bennyfit of a decent ejucashion means I got more money than taste.

Bought the Maybach cos it were cheep, sold it to a person of means with even less taste than I.

Mind you, the only fing I do know about taste is that finest artist of all time is that cockney boy Turner.

For me it has to be the audi a2 all cheap plastic and seats like park benches solo hard and no position is right. The audi 90 20v on the other hand was a right car perfect seats a monster of a 90s n/a engine car, ok it only had 170bhp.
In 9 years of use and 150k miles travelled we only had one thing wrong the water pump failed. Now if I get that from a volvo I will be happy.
The v70 has all the toys but one thing it lacks due to its size is ya can't really throw it around luke the audi, guess iam gonna have to get used to calm relaxed. Driving from now on.

I'm going to get blackballed off the forum for this, BUT, after two 240s and a 740, the biggest disappointment is the poor traction on my 850! Great car otherwise, but spins it's wheels in the damp, and (so far) is the only car I've owned which has failed to get me out from my house in snow.

I drove a ferrari 360 last year with the f1 paddle gearbox and thought it was awful, once you were on the move it was fine but first gear and no clutch meant it was difficult to drive smoothly at low speeds. Wouldnt want to be in traffic with it. Would much rather have had a manual box.

Worst car I ever drove was a Smart Fourtwo, hideous slow robotized manual gearbox, horrible plastic interior, no real go to it despite it being a tuned one and really wouldnt fancy a crash in it though its probably the best thing for it.

the 2 most disappointing cars i have owned were my 52 plate v70 turbo and my 02 plate v70xc turbo 1st one lasted about 8 months geartonic box gave up 2nd one lasted 8 months head gasket went 1st one had only done 100000 miles with full history 2nd had only done 138000 with full history i was really disappointed compared to all the other volvos i have owned

My most disappointing car ever was my V50. I had wanted one for ages, I saved up for ages and then I got the most fantastic looking V50. I loved it - for the 48 hours it worked. Everything went wrong, DPA Volvo assured me they'd be able to sort the issues and over £1000 of work later they hadn't. I was gutted. All the more because I have always loved Volvo and in particular my S80 T6 was brilliant :0)

I would still love a manual pristine 940 estate (Ford didn't get their hands on those!).

The worst car I owned was a Fiat Marea Weekend, but then I paid £995 and it for two years spending just £250 and sold it for £895. At £350 for two years motoring I wasn't disappointed. I expected it to be fairly rubbish. I expected that V50 to be premium quality and reliability.
