Default 940 2.3 redblock manual petrol low millage

Hello guys, I’ve had my 940 for around 6 years. Just having some works done on it to get it back in the road for the summer.
It’s got 90,000 genuine miles on it. I think I’m the 2nd owner from new and it has been very well looked after. I’m having to spend a little bit on it changing fuel lines and power steering lines breaks etc and I’m just wondering if any of you can give me a rough evaluation of what it’s worth now.
A photo has been attached.
Hopefully some of you know a bit more about prices than I do, I’ve obviously done a few searches and I know these engines are incredible and there are not many manuals or nice clean black cars about anymore.
Many thanks,
Ben

There is quite a bit of variation between the prices being asked for some of the cars that have been on eBay for years and ones that actually sell. Browse "sold" listings for a more accurate view of the market

Prices are also influenced by turbo or n/a and trim levels. Judging by the wheels and absence of roof bars yours might be a lower spec model. If so, don't expect it to achieve top prices.

However, be alert to the risk of being beaten down on price by a back-street trader who will then polish it up a bit more and market it for three times your original asking price by pretending it's been part of a private collection for the length of time you owned it. We've seen that on here several times lately.

This statement really. Expect to look online and see lots of these at £6,000 to 8,000 and they have literally been listed since before lockdown.

Then be prepared for a £1,000 offer from traders who then advertise it for significant sums.

If it were me, and this really is finger in the air stuff I would be advertising it initially at 4K hoping someone bites but accept in reality that 2.5k may be more realistic.

There are lot's of manuals out there but 100k is fairly low mileage for a 95 car

Is it a turbo ? Also M90 gearbox is more desirable. I also see it hasnt had an MOT since 2019 so I'm assuming you are intending on getting that done ?

Assuming it's base spec non turbo I would agree with XC90 on the £2k to £2.5k price

I’ll give you 2.5k for it. I’m looking for a nice one.

This is very interesting intel. I have a ‘96 which is very similar but has Pholus alloys, turbo and M90. Genuine 86k miles and beautifully kept. I don’t plan to sell it in the near future but am interested to know what the ballpark value is. I see lots of equivalent cars on eBay for £5-8k but they seem to have been there forever.

It comes up on compare the market as a 1994 940 S so it don't think it is a turbo car which will lower the value of it a bit.

I keep looking for a nice late reg estate. So miss the ones I used to have. I am bloody sick of the fact that today to get a car to start one bit of the thing has to talk to loads of other bits even before it fires up. I have a 51 Citroen and you pop the key in, turn it, pull the starter and off you go. No waiting for system check of this than and the other before you might get the green light. Rant over.
