I've never used them but I do remember them from decades ago "think nearly 4" when they advertised in Street Machine mag specialising in modded cars and high performance/muscle car coverage,
With any broker they will try to get the highest price out of you, they will also have a shared record of you that MiB lets them see so if you appear to be not declaring everything they will automatically price you up to get shot of you, Like anything there will be examples of poor service from disgruntled customers but I would say this, the fact the business is to my knowledge 40 years old it couldn't have got to that age giving bad service levels, the pandemic could be another reason for it as well as things have been thrown up in the air during it and it's possible with the bad reviews they might have got a quote from an employee whose only just started or stressed out to the max, my broker always gives me a good price but even then sometimes it's hard to get that price as they have to ask the panel first and the panel isn't always forthcoming with the price or adjustment, you have to chase it up as the broker won't be sitting by the phone waiting for your quote all day and it will get easily forgotten, I'm neither for or against Flux on this nor the customers with the problem, I don't doubt for one minute the OP and the TP reviewers are making anything up. |

Went back to them recently with a family car, with an agreed value to hopefully avoid any debates, which all insurers aim to adjust.
My previous insurer had clearly changed its approach to retaining customers, with a 35% increase despite no claims and a lower annual mileage. They werent interested in improving, other than by reducing cover. In a similar scenario with AF on another car, they made a real effort to retain the business when I provided a quote at renewal that was 20% cheaper. Is there actually a 'great' insurance company or broker these days ? |

I've just remembered, I am actually an Adrian Flux customer...
I insure our horsebox with them (Renault Master Loloader with a big door conversion), and have done for 7 years. We've made a few in-year policy adjustments with them - we bought it as van and then had it converted, we've moved, and added/removed named drivers. Always been efficient, but we've never made a claim.

It’s been a few years since I used Flux, but they insured my modified Saab Aero without any fuss. One of the noteworthy aspects to their service compared to other insurers, they had humans answering the telephone fairly promptly after filtering. Reason I left was I parted with a modified car so I could return to straightforward insurance companies, without answering lots of questions. That said I’ve not noticed any improvement in the yearly debacle that is insuring my cars. As bad every year, as they all jockey for my eyeballs.
Home/Car insurance/ Utility bills and selling your house, just imagine someone creating products that simplify these awful processes…….. |

'they are usually started by people who have a problem to air' Nobody would bother if they didn't have a problem and seems from that group that many people have problem. You get the bad and nobody bothers with the good. Why would you set up a group called 'X insurance company is great' However when you get people complainin en masse like this, it means something. |

Quote:
100 people might complain about the service, and if only 100 customers are happy, that's very poor. But if it's 100 complaints versus 1,000,000 happy customers, that's a stunning result. And of the people who complain - how many are the 19 year olds who have put farty exhausts and 2 litre engines into their Fiesta and the company doesn't repair their car after a crash because they didn't declare modifications? In my mind, it only really means things are normal...
