Default New XC70 owner

After nearly 5 years in a P2 S60, I’m now the proud owner of an XC70. It’s a late 2015 D5 SE Lux. First impressions are that it’s absolutely fantastic and adaptive cruise control is just amazing. I’ll try to get a photo later.

A big thumbs up to Ray Chapman in York who were very professional and prepared the car to an exceptional standard.

Thanks all. I’m very happy with the way it drives; it’s very smooth and the adaptive cruise is an absolute godsend. The D5 is also much improved when compared to the Euro 4 185 variant.

The trip computer claimed an average of 39mpg on a 60 mile trip this morning which isn’t bad if it’s to be believed. I usually calculate the MPG for each tank on Fuelly so I’ll have a good idea on what to expect soon.

I've found this gen's computer to be pretty good.

That’s good to know. It’s a shame that the “trip statistics” which I’ve set to reset at every journey doesn’t show the average speed for a trip. Unless I’m missing something, I can see the distance, trip duration and average MPG. I can see the average speed on the dash but that seems to be a long term reading which doesn’t reset automatically.

The average speed and fuel consumption you see on the dashboard are since last reset, which you do manually. It's completely separate from the trip statistics you can see in the center display.
They can be reset individually or as a group.

My XC70, which is a 2012, didn't even have trip statistics when I bought it. It came with a later software update.

Finally, the expected range on remaining fuel is based on the rolling average consumption the last 30 km.
