17" to 18" Alloys???
Hello i'm reading a lot about steering rack limiters and software changes for fitting bigger size wheels, is this correct.
I'm thinking of buying my son genuine 18" alloys instead of the standard 17" on his V40 T4 R Design. The 17" wheels are 225/45/17 7.5Jx17 ET50. The 18"' wheels are 225/40/18 7.5Jx18 ET50. As far as i understand changing the tyre profile the wheels are exactly the same, no offset difference, rim width the same, am i missing something? I found this on the internet 225/40-18 to 225/45-17 Difference Diameter inches (mm) 25.09 (637.2) 24.97 (634.3) -0.11 (-2.9) -0.5% Width inches (mm) 8.86 (225) 8.86 (225) 0 (0) 0% Circum. inches (mm) 78.81 (2001.82) 78.45 (1992.71) -0.36 (-9.11) -0.5% Kind regards Karl |
