Default XC40 Reversing Camera

Just bought my good lady a 2019 R Design D3. I expected there to be a reversing camera but nothing seems to appear when in reverse. Does it have to be turned on manually, or worse, may it not have it ?

My XC40 D4 R Design is also 2019 and did not come with the fitted camera! There is one available from Volvo.....at some expense! If you don't have one you can get aftermarket versions at reasonable cost from Halfords and others.
How much do you want to spend 😱?

Thanks. Gosh, just looked at Volvo's pricing and she can live with the simple park assist buzzer for now LOL

I confess to finding the XC40 tricky to align when reversing and am glad I had the camera fitted as part if the purchase deal. However, are you aware of the option to automatically angle the door mirrors downwards when reverse is selected?

Quote:
Automatic angling during parking
With this setting, the door mirror is automatically angled down when reverse gear is selected. The folded position is preset and cannot be adjusted.

Tap on Settings in the centre display's top view.

Press My CarMirrors and Convenience.

Under Exterior Mirror Tilt at Reverse, select Off, Driver, Passenger or Both to activate/deactivate and to select which review mirror should be angled.

You can make the door mirror return to its original position by pressing the L or R button

Only if you have the power seats and mirrors. Mine didn't get those either! I've got used to stopping, tilting the mirror from the door button, selecting reverse and away you go. You do get used to it eventually. 🤭.

I didn’t know that. Mine is MY20 D3 Momentum and it came with quite few bits and pieces on it. The trim, options and accessories around that period do seem a bit random.

I thought that they all do.....
They are quite cheap aftermarket fittings. Hadd them put on my old S80. Very reliable.
