Default Automatic gearbox control unit 30751946

Hi, looking for gearbox control unit preferably in South Wales, anyone?
My car is V70 D5 2008, but looks like same unit in XC60, S80, S60 with 6 speed aisin transmission.
Thanks

Hello

As I understand from previous comments within threads on here,it would seem that the TCM is coded to your vehicle so it is not as simple as purchasing a secondhand unit to be plug and play.

Perhaps send your old TCM to be checked and repaired if necessary?

Depends. If he matches the year he should be fine, but all the adaptations will be different, thus the new TCM has to be reset OR if the old one has a working flash memory, the old adaptations can be copied over to the new TCM.

Thanks a lot for your replies!
Old one is damaged, but the memory might be OK.
From what I've seen online there is a chance the used unit will be working fine if it has same software version.
Not sure what happens when you buy a new unit from Volvo, they program the unit to the gearbox?
Regards
