I can’t help but think this will be a very very hard sale privately. It’s of retail age (what is the milage?) and is a very complex beast. I think you would need to offer quite a discount from the Volvo selekt type of scheme and still quite a discount on the non franchised trader. I must say on the flip side however, I would have thought this would command a very strong trade in price etc, it would seem to hit the price point. I would usually review the typical Volvo selekt price, the We Biy Any Car price, and then price in between accordingly. The issue with used car valuations is that we have an instance where cars like my XC90 start to have silly valuations 6 or 9 months ago, then petrol hits £2 a l and it drops significantly, then it seems to be all over the place. We’re you not offered a decent part ex value? Good luck with what ever your choice. |

Input the car’s details into We Buy Any Car website for a quick valuation.
They were offering quite a bit more than the local Volvo dealer on my 2018 XC60 a few weeks. As others have said there’s not a lot of buyers who would purchase an expensive and complex vehicle via a private sale. We sold a Toyota through them earlier this year and got nearly a £1000 more than the Toyota dealer offered. There are other companies that will make you an offer Motorway is one. |

I used Motorway when selling my A4 Avant earlier this year. Achieved £1k more than WBAC and they collect from your driveway.

You can get valuations through Carwow for selling cars through various dealers. Upload some photos and a description and they will send you some offers. No obligation to accept any of them I don't believe.

Used car prices are high now.
Why would it be a very very hard private sell? Stick it on Autotrader and mark it up 20/30% over what any comparison site offers you. You don't have anything to lose My S90 inscription 2016 plate with 56,000, Intellisafe surround, sunroof, 360 camera, bowers and Wilkins, carplay/android play, BLIS, park pilot, climate controls in back, 20 inch alloys etc and Motorway offered me £15,000! I could be barking mad, but I don't think I'd struggle to get £17,000 on Autotrader. I'd try anyway |

1). They are high priced - there are no bargains out there. 2). Buy private and gear box failure is £8,000, engine failure £15,000. Buy Selekt, it’s £0.00. I would not buy something of this nature, price point or year for £1,500 less than selekt. Hence I think it will be a hard sell without going to dealers etc. |

I also don't know if it would, depends what spec you want as well. I have searched high and low for a like for like of mine and I either can't find one or its like £20,000+ I paid £17,000 for mine about a year and a half a go now. Prices have since gone crazy. Yeah I could pick one up a lot cheaper, but it wouldn't have my current spec or close to it. I have looked quite a bit as I've been in a predicament about what to do with mine as I'm going away for about 12 months. The select warranty is very good, but I think if you do your due diligence and price your car right in comparison to other private sales then you could get more. Whether it would be a hard sell, would to be determined. |
