Default mpg on V70 AWD?

What mpg are people typically getting on P2 V70 AWDs

I am averaging around 30 mpg on a 55 V70 D5 with 75k on the clock which seems poor...

For a d5 I would say that's poor I get 22round the doors on a p1 v70 awd with the petrol engine

And I can get 35 on a run

Thumbs down

I used to get an average of 39-40 mpg from my 55reg V70 185bhp D5 AWD and I thought that was poor because I did a lot if motorway miles then. It averaged iro 35mpg localy before I changed it for a petrol car, which gives me 30mpg on average, so costs about the same to rum with petrol being up to 8p per ltr cheaper.

Not quite the same model, but my 2004 XC70 D5 averages 40 - 44 based on 50 mile daily commute on dual carriaways. I think my best average was 54 but that was a steady 60 for 100+ miles. Driving around town it's low 30's. The XC has a higher ride which I think is the main reason why it's slightly worse than regular V70.

Default V70 mpg

Hi, not sure if this helps but I'm new to volvos and have had a V70 p2 D5 auto (not AWD) for a few months now. It's an excellent car, i'm avarging no lower than 45mpg on my 30 mile cross country commute. If i'm on a longer motorway run i get comfortably into the 50's.

Might just be me driving miss daisy though!

thanks I had mine serviced this wk and borrowed the 2wd D5 which was returning 45mpg.

The 05 brochure says combined mpg of 39 for the AWD so I seem to be getting very poor consumption, - a 14 mile each way journey to work may be the reason, although I do motorway sometimes too

That'll be the 185 engine then, with the silvery cover?

30 is a bit on the low side, wifey gets ~32 on her 7 mile each way daily commute and ours has worse aero and tires than yours so you should be doing at least the same.....unless it's an auto which would make 30 about right I would think

My on board trip meter varies between 20 and 22. Never worked it out for real but seems about right. Tank range approx 300 miles.

My XC70 D5 returns a claimed 60mpg, maybe more on a run according to trip............. ok then!!!

Reality though I go by amount of miles I get from a full tank and the most I have achieved is 940 miles. Mostly motorway driving with appx 100 miles of town driving in that figure. Speed about 60mph

Car was bout with one of those chips fitted that is supposed to boost power and MPG
