Default Amazon Console

Has anyone had any experience or know where I can get plans for building a centre console for my Amazon? Just really for housing a tape player and speakers, don't really want to install them in the doors! Doesn't look too hard but i was wondering if anyone had done it before.

Thanks

Alex

Thanks

Alex
For my header unit i put a universal mount under the dash below the original radio and put speakers (x-plod 200w) under the front seats and a 220w sub in the boot (with 100w amp) the system sounds bloody great and the car still charges, the only time the charge light comes on is radio - heater fan - lights - wipers. Oh yeh if i blow the horn the radio goes off! not bad for a stock '64

dash pick with cd unit visable

boot full of sound

Unless the car is an automatic (or has been fitted with a P1800 gear lever extension), surely there won't be enough space? The standard manual gear stick is mounted too far forward and has too long a throw for there to be room for a useful console.

Thanks for those pictures Druid, that mounting could be an alternitive, and those speakers look fat, I could probably connect my bass guitar to all that and go raving!

Mine isn't an automatic which would have been easier, but if you take the point of the gear stick, at where it stops before it flanges out; youv'e only got about 4-5 inchs travel up and down and about the same across, which is quite large, but i might be able to knock something presentable up.
