1996 940 LPT Auto Estate Cruise ctrl Winter Tyre
For Sale
£1500 Open to offers https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254275443717 I have owned this luxurious Volvo for two years now, during which it has provided me with effortless long-distance touring throughout the country. I have kept a meticulous account of all spending, including servicing and every fuel fill up during my ownership. This grand old brick has averaged 26mpg since I purchased it and will happily return over 30mpg on motorway trips. I have changed the oil and filter every 5,000 miles and the engine still runs beautifully smoothly. Being the larger (2.3 ltr) engine with a low pressure turbo, it pulls well, and the automatic gearbox gives no trouble: kick-down still works. This was clearly very highly specced when new: automatic aircon, cruise control (working perfectly), electronically adjustable and heated driver's seat. The leather seats are supremely comfortable (driver's seat has wear to be expected at this mileage) and the car even comes with the original Volvo floor mats. Last June I had a new set of Michelin Cross Climate tyres fitted, these are all-season tyres which were a joy to have in snow/ice/rain of the winter, and they still have plenty of tread left. The bad points: There is a rust bubble near the driver's door. Aircon could do with a recharge. Driver's door has lost it's spring (this doesn't affect it's function in any way other than not propping it open. The gear stick (if that's what you call it on an auto?) is losing some of its plastic coating, but this does not affect its function. I have purchased a 7-seat conversion, in the same colour as the rest of the interior (2 fold up seats in the boot) but I haven't got round to fitting it yet. Comes with all the fittings and seat belts and I can include this on negotiation. Brand new exhaust rear silencer just fitted. As always, I have tried to describe the car as accurately as possible, but due to its age I recommend you come and have a look for yourself before purchase. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask |
