Default Trim question PV444

On the bonnet sides, also the bonnet ornament (?)
What if any , is the significance? Im just curious really. Volvo has the grille badge and slash bar as a readily recognisable 'icon' just wondered if these held any significance to the marque, or are they just a model/series thing?

As far as I know they were just a model/year thing.

Default pv444 trim

my 1950 pv444 has a nice alloy front grill that was changed to mesh shortly after, the tridents and side chrome trims came later as did the hood/bonnet ornament, which is a swallow, and if anyone has one laid around i would love to buy it!!

You can get a reproduction swallow from www.nordicar.com in Holland. Originals are as rare as hen's teeth.
