Its super easy . But I double checked the size of the filter a trillion times and mine is the smaller one .I wondered if the longer filter might be an issue if fitted ??? And why is there 2 sizes ? !!

That screw is just to hold on the brake disc on on the production line and has no bearing on the "tightness" of the disc day to day so I can't see how the missing screw would have an impact.
The five substantial wheel bolts which pass through the wheel, brake disc and hub keep everything secure and rattle free.

Maybe having everything undone and torqued back up correctly was all that was needed?

cured window 'bounce' again

stripped door, cleaned rubber strips in and out, cleaned out window tracks, sprayed PTFE grease all over inner workings, went up down a few million times, cleaned again. pulled outer skin of door outwards slightly again because you can see the window pushing it out when it goes up

works again for now, see how long it lasts.. poxy thing

starting to wonder If I should replace or at least remove and clean the mechanism

I also acquired a set of wheels (thor) recently for a bargain.
Got a litre of ready for use gun metal grey paint off ebay, the key is good preperation, sanded down using a random orbital sander, working up through grades of sanding discs, it all depends on how scuffed the wheels are, mine only had a bit on two, i used 240 grit 600 grit 800 grit discs , used 40 and 80 grit on the worst of the curb rash followed by 400,600 then 800 grit, used a generic spray can primer, two to three coats was enough for me, then i applied the basecoat using an ani r 160q spray gun with a 1.2 mm tip/nozzle, two to three coats of that allowing sufficient time for the paint to flash off, then using the same spray gun two to three coats of 2k lacquer also allowing sufficient time for each coat to flash off, as for spray guns you can pick them up pretty cheaply on ebay, i've got a few, a brand called fastmover and duren spay guns which are the same guns just different brand names, also a decent compressor is needed should you wish to do it like i have, there are some good guides on youtube which is where i went to see how it can done.

Have you tried the DDM reset/recalibration in Vida?

not in VIDA, no, I'll have a look for that at some point. I assume its accessed similar to the gearbox oil change counter, etc? I've done the usual pull the fuse out, hold window buttons up for a bit, etc

when i do the cleaning it stops happening for a while (8-10 months or so last time) so I was pretty sure it was a physical issue rather than electronic, but it can't hurt to give it a try I guess

I can't remember the exact wording of the function but it should be listed in the Advanced tab of the DDM in Vehicle Communication then follow the on screen description and instructions for the procedure.

back to the spraypaint issue, if you haven't got the spray guns and air compressor etc..

I used rattle tins (or what one of my mates affectionately calls 'tw@t cans' lol)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/12016999415

I cant recommend these E-tech ones ones highly enough, they have excellent nozzles that give a nice accurate spray pattern, didnt get all blocked up like the cheap sh1t ones do, and it's very hard to overspray unless you go mad like a total idiot with it. didn't leave me with the classic 'orange peel' finish

prep prep prep and prep again as above, a couple of coats of etch primer and away you go

add some lacquer, job done

the only struggle I had and finally learnt my lesson a few years ago is, know when to stop and walk away. leave it until it's hardened before you try and do any corrective wet'n'dry work

nope

mine had the smaller size fuel filter, and I ended up ordering a larger one

the diameter was the same, so the bracket fitted, and the pipes were easily flexible enough to account for the extra length

5 minute job, now everyone is asking me why they can smell petrol
