Replaced scratched d/s headlight, took both sides out and silicone sealed all around (p/s was fogging slightly) refitted and tested all ok

replaced temp. cheap wishbones with old ones now fitted with powerflex bushes

replaced gearbox 'torque' mount which was a total shot in the dark but glad i did because old one floppy as anything. did the ghetto upgrade to the new one before fitting (bike inner tube rubber to fill gaps in small bush for stiffness. but tidy though, cut excess so not all hanging out)

gave whole front end a good clean behind brake discs,, in arches, behind headlights and so on

ordered new horns because the bumpers off anyway so why not. will relocate away from rad though because although it's running fine, the theory is it might be better not to block any airflow. will have them in corners behind bumper near fog light positions

ordered my undertray and bolts (previous owner disposed of)

busy busy

This morning I complimented a bloke's 2008 S60. He directed me to his right headlight lens which had a big hole. The bulb was shattered.
Oddly, the shadowing tube was intact. The reflector was clean.

He broke it the night before and added that the police stopped him for the out light. It appears New Hampshire is strict about such things.
I poked my left index finger whilst removed the remaining base losing 0.1ml of blood (or less). Even so, I bleed for Volvo. I told him to buy an H11 bulb.

With a quavering voice he said, "Hhhaittcchhh eh-leaven?". The blank, perplexed look on his face was jarring.

I skipped all headlight unit replacement advice as it would've helped.

Horns received (the red Hella ones) and fitted in corners bolted to the underside of the metal bumper bar thing. one next to the water bottle and one in the opposite corner, they fit perfectly in those spaces. much louder and sounds a lot better than the original feeble ones

bumper + wheels back on, test drive, feels spot on. not sure if steering feels tighter and more responsive (polybushes) or if I just really want it to feel that way .. still, all good. think the slight clonk on hard brake / accelerate is gone as well (torque mount?) but it was only really noticeable when the car was fully loaded so we shall see over time

alignment check tomorrow (Seems ok but looking after newish tyres) then full wash and wax

Poor car had been parked under a tree so it was a sticky horrific mess, I felt bad so went to halfords and picked up some extra bits to give it a MEGA cleaning!

Wheels Cleaner (Made my hands sting)
Washed with snow foam
Washed with snow foam
Washed with car shampoo
Autoglym Magma
Clay bar
Tar remover
Ceramic sealant
Black trim polished
Windows polished

It's sooo clean now!

Thumbs up

In the process of fitting Silent Coat acoustic sound deadening to the boot and rear seat area of the V70.
Kids complaining that my turbo back custom stainless exhaust is too loud!
Leather seats getting cleaned and conditioned next, before refitting, so I'll see what improvements have been achieved.
Photos to follow...

Reconnected the filler breather pipe, hopefully that's the source of a fuel smell when it's brimmed

Changed the Vband clamp on the charge pipe and gave it a light engine detail with some APC and silishine

If that doesn't cure the fule smell, check the filler down pipe's silicone elbow connection where it joins to the tank - they have a habit of perishing after a number of years - you may find it easier to check under the car when filling-up - which is much more easy than visually checking the joint unless you have snake camera!

Looked this morning when it was up on the ramp getting 4 wheel alignment, it's the small breather pipe onto the tank that looks to be weeping. I bought both a month ago as a precaution, looking at it it's definitely take it up to the garage and let them do it on the ramp though
