S40 (New) General : roof bars

Hello,
Could anybody tell me what other models roof bars will fit to my s40 my2005?
I'm looking for used roof bars and box and been wondering if Volvo has standard roof bars mounting points or they varies from model to model, please.

You need ones specific to an S40/V50. Have a look under te roof line and you'll see a hole above each door that an aligning pin goes into.

I've had Thule bars and the Volvo ones but no others. If you got the right length of thule bars (from any car) you can buy just the foot pack to fit the S40. You'll find bar lengths on the Thule website.

Think you will need foot pack th754 and fix kit 1590 and bars 762(square bars) or 962 for wing bars. With square bars you would be looking at about £130 and add about 40 for wing bars.

I have s40 2009 sport design. Are the bars you quote Volvo or Thule? Wondering which I should buy? Volvo may be cheaper but not transferable to other cars?

You could think about getting a 2nd hand set, I managed to pickup a second hand set of volvo roof bars for my 2005 S40 off gumtree for £30, that included the volvo torque tool and volvo instructions well happy but I've seen others around the 40-50 mark...

ive got some genuine volvo aliminuim ones that would fit yours ive literally used them twice and both times didnt even put the roof box on so they have been on my roof but not used . make me an offer think they cost me about 100 odd quid new there about 12months old
