Rust, rust & rust. That's just about it actually Cosmetic stuff is obvious - doors, wheelarches, bonnets, etc. Try to get a car without a sunroof - that's one big headache all-round gone! Structurally...most of the underside is a potential target for the rot monster. Sills, chassis legs at the rear, inner wheelarches....and front spring lower seats like to collapse....the list is long.
MPG...well the stock fuel system on a GLT is pretty poor compared with modern fuel injection, and most are in less than A1 condition now. 30-35 is probably about right on the motorway, if you're being gentle. Don't confuse this with the engine being tired - that's very unlikely. Mechanically, they are very solid if they've been looked after. Just watch the gearbox and diff oil levels. The smart money if you're concerned about fuel economy is actually the carb (GL/GLE) version. It's almost as fast, and gives notably better fuel economy - I could get 45mpg at 70mph from mine. You can add the (very few) extra GLT goodies pretty easily, and I prefer the lighter coloured interiors. A set of good tyres will more than make up for the slightly softer suspension, and since the shocks will probably be shot by now, just replace them with GLT gas ones as and when. Oh, and buy my blue car Hehe... cheers James |

Hi my husband has a 360 GLT that he is selling, he is away at the moment but will be back at the weekend. He has just restored the car and it has only done 80,000 miles. It is a lovely car but his passion is 760 turbo intercoolers, which he purchased one on tuesday after waiting a long time to find one. We haven't enough room on our drive as I have a 480, my mother in laws 360 is parked here also and we have a company car so one of them is going to have to go, and there is no way I am selling my 480.
Happy to answer any questions if I can. |

I am really sorry I don't know how to do a private message, my huband usually uses does anything like that. The car has a recent MOT, tax till end of Jan. He has just had a cambelt fitted last week and an oil change. He has had the sills replaced and some other things done to her. I think he is willing to accept any reasonable offer as he wasn't going to sell her he hasn't really thought of whet he wants for her. He has spent a lot of time restoring her and she not only drives lovely she looks lovely too.

Ah, we saw this car at Gaydon on Sunday and were wondering where it came from. We noticed that the tailgate had been resprayed.
