new clutch / flywheel
Hi MY2012 XC60 D3 FWD 230 kms needs a new clutch . My Mechanic has said that getting a new flywheel will be difficult as the last two he did the part wasn't available and eventually had to put in the old fly wheel.
I have checked on line and for my model i cant seem to find a flywheel at reasonable cost as indeed they seem to be out of stock. is this a thing other people have come across , i assume putting in the old fly wheel is not the best idea in the world but if there is no other option is it a possibility with a new clutch based in Ireland btw any advice is appreciated |

Go to the dealer, clutch and flywheel kits are very competitively priced.
My XC clutch and wheel from Volvo cost about £550 with all the bolts, breathers and the like as compared to the motor factor equivalent of flywheel, which was nearing £800 just for the flywheel! |

Have a look on Autodoc.co.uk they're listed on there and prices are ok as far as I know.
However, delivery can be a bit slow but they do have parts that it's not easy to get here. Worth a look. Martyn |

Thanks All ,finally got the clutch with a new flywheel done yesterday . Wasnt cheap including labour was about 1400 GBP .
The car will probably have to go back though because the automatic handbrake is now really difficult to release via the clutch /accelerator combo ,no problem releasing the handbrake via the switch near the steering wheel. I think i have figured out if yo do an extremely quick motion of realesing clutch and pressing acceleartor for a split second it will work but this is almost counter to how it should work of slowing releasing clutch pressing accelerator Does anybody know if this is an easy adjustment or something thats deep routed within the gearbox/clutch. thanks for any help |

Your right about the cost and availability of flywheel parts - I just had to pay £600 for a duel mass flywheel +200 for the pressure and friction +another 100 for the bolts and bearing!
The main dealer said there is a wait of at least a month for flywheels! my clutch was half worn after 150000 miles but the duel mass flywheel was completely knackered, and the push bearing was slightly rough . |
