Default Power Steering 2014 V60

I was driving my V60 yesterday and suddenly on the display came up power steering service required and lost all power steering whilst driving. Got in it this morning and it was fine for 100 meters then gone again. Same display. Any ideas?

Scan with vida, it's electric power steering si the fault could be with loom.

Diagnostic software https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/what-is-vida/

suggest seeing if a nearby member who has VIDA can help

If its a fluid based power setting the I'd check the build level (as Sammy said), if its electronic then I'd be checking for any fault code via VIDA (as Ele288 said).

Good Luck..

Pretty sure my '12 V60 is hydraulic not electrical power steering.. will check in a bit as I've got to top up the screen wash!

DS

*Update* Yep, hydraulic on my V60

@Freyalass - You're looking for a small reseviour between the radiator and coolant tank on the left hand side of the engine (I've a RHD V60). It will say 'power steering fluid....." on it!

Remember to use the correct fluid to top up too! Not all fluids are the same
