Is this specific to XC60? I was not told I need one when my V60 was delivered, and I'm on over 3000 miles not.
Service schedule says first service at 18000 miles.
It should be an item in your service handbook. (The one the dealer has to stamp) Check the wheels aren't falling off etc. ;-) Applies to all models as far as I know.

I asked my dealer about the 3,000 mile quality inspection this week, as I've just hit that mileage in my V60 D4.

They told me it is no longer a requirement, and is only if customers want to have it done -- apparently Volvo UK no longer see it as a requirement because of respect for customers' time and fuel costs.

Yes Roy, that dealer is always very busy. One of the salesmen was telling me they had just had a record 6 month period for sales of new cars. Recession, what recession!

Where are you having your car detailed if you don't mind me asking?

About 3 years ago this was the case , It didnt last long however , and now it is has been back on for a long time .. it is in the new style current service books . The dealer has the checklist forms and it is not a 3000 mile , it is 3 MONTHS , Time not mileage , however if you do a huge mileage it is probably more appropriate to go in after 3000 miles to get the Quality Assurance Inspection , It isnt compulsory , but nice to go in get a free check a cup of tea and a car wash and vacuum , see who is on the service reception desk and query anything you are not sure about on your new car .
