Default Recomendations

Hi all,

Ive had a quick search but couldnt come up with anything so I'm gonna ask the question.

I have P6000 tyres on the front of my S60 D5, they are 225/45 17's

They have worn on the inner edge quite badly and will need replacing. The tracking is fine (had it checked) and the local tyre fitters tell me they do wear like that anyway.

So my question is any other tyres of similar price (about 95 quid) that anyone can recomend, I dont really want the same ones again if they have a tendancy to wear out before their time.

So im open to any suggestions, TA

Kind Regards

Michelin pilot primacys are brilliant, fantastic grip in wet & dry and when pushed hard. Last a good while too, also conti sport contact 2 or 3's are good also.
Mind you anything is better than the p6000's.

Have you had your wishbone bushes checked? thats what was causing my inner tyre wear, also tramlining over certain road surfaces.

Kind regards
Andy.

This is rubbish, I expect the front bushes in the lower wishbones are shot.

Have this checked out before you buy new tyres.

Hi, yes the wishbones are fine infact the bushes were shot and were changed before the p6000 were put on at which point 4 wheel tracking was done and check again a week or so ago, which is why i asked the question about tyre recomendations.

My Dad has P6000s on the back of his Fiat Stilo and they have worn in exactly the same way (not as bad as mine admitially)

I'm in the same boat, going for Good Year F1 assymetrics next time, very good reports on them and cheaper than the Michelins

Well the front wheels are toeing out too much, this is the cause of wear on the inner edge of the tyres if there are no component wear problems.

Hi Chris, I couldnt agree more, but it seems just an unusual wear pattern at least in my case.

I will find out for sure when I replace the tyres which I will (as always) get the tracking done aswell.

I would try Ears Motorsport on ebay

I have fitted Kumho tyres for the last few years, fantastic value & great quality

Search on 225/45 17 KUMHO KU31 XL on ebay

If you live near Macclesfield go give them a visit as well, they know their stuff

They sell most brands at a great price
