On LH 2.4 systems I've always understood that the in-line canister fitted next to the main fuel pump underneath the car, under the rear seat, was a combined accumulator and fuel filter.
I've never heard of the filter needing changing - it never occured to me in over 400,000 miles in my Torslanda. |

I changed the one on my 940 and that had been replaced recently by a previous owner as it was an aftermarket one and looked like new on the outside but it still had debris inside of it. |

K-jet cars will flow far more petrol through a filter than non-return systems, so it's filtering the entire contents of your tank and fuel system constantly.
I changed a 20,000mile filter and opened it up: Yuk. Changing them every 10,000 miles now f'sure. Older fuel tanks will produce more crud the older they get. |

The LH 2.4 is also a return flow system.
