Advice on buying a 2008 S80 2.5T
Hi
I am looking at buying a 2007 or 2008 S80 2.5T I am currently looking at 2 of them, both relatively low mileage for their age, one of them manual, one automatic. Can anyone point me in the right direction for things to look out for, when examining these cars, pre purchase? From the little bit of research I have done, I realise the timing belt needs to be replaced at circa 100K miles - the dealer selling the automatic (2008) is prepared to do this if I buy it. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Are those the redesigned model both? I think first year was 2007. If so, would probably skip the 2007 one because it was a first year model, and might have had some issues.
I think maintenance is what is critical in these vehicles. Ask the dealer to show you from their computers the service that has been done on the vehicle. This can also pinpoint if the car had significant repairs - might mean it's not the wisest buy. Also, for the automatic, if the transmission fluid was already replaced, that's a good point.
