Default Water sloshing around.

Hi all, wonder if someone on here can help me. My 2008 S80 D5 has what sounds like trapped water sloshing around from the dash area, base of windscreen, noticeable when turning left or right sharply. I have read somewhere that a faulty windscreen seal may let rainwater get into a box section which is then trapped, drilling a hole into this box section allows the water to drain. Does anyone know where to drill this hole or has anyone had the same issue and what you did to resolve it.
Many thanks. Tim.

This a known problem and water is possibly getting in due to a leaking windscreen and gets trapped in the bulkhead. See sticky posts in green .The cure is to drill a hole for water to drain . Volvo should be able to supply details of where to drill . Be sure to rust proof the drilled metal and check if the screen is leaking . If it is then get it re-seated/glued as it essential for body strength .

I had this on my 2009 S8 from new, I think they tried the drain hole but ended up replacing the windscreen so I suspect that wasn't sealed correctly.
