Default V50 rear brake pads are really odd

2009 V50 diesel estate

Replacnig the rear pads and disks.
The brake pads I have to put on are really odd, they have a load of metalwork on the back (pic below)

I believe the plain pad goes on the outer and the one with 'braces' goes inside near the caliper. Am I supposed to do something with the springs or just let them sit between the caliper end and backplate of the pad?

thanks in advance
Al.

The one with the springs on the rear go on the inside and the springs slot down into a groove that's machined on the caliper piston. This stops the pads from rattling. Most pad designs just have an anti-rattle plate on the inner pad but this type are equally OK.
