Just saw a stunning dark green 240 in Henley on Thames Esso garage. Non-volvo driving guys on the pump next to me noticed it and were discussing it. Wire wheels, windows blacked out in the estate and rear of the car. It had the big silver aluminium roof-rack on it but it looked surprisingly good, on my 940 it makes it look like a window cleaner's car!

I've just read about the wooden slatted roofracks which fit 245s and it was possible the full sized roofrack on this 245 was wood and aluminium?

Wire wheels? Yuck.. Shame, they look horrible on 240's. Could be BBS-style mesh instead or?

Wires?
OK on an MG or something prehistoric, but on a modern car they are a bit Lowrider.
Chicanos getting into Volvos now? Run out of Buicks I expect.

Unless by wires you mean Torslanda style alloys?
A different kettle of herrings entirely.

I'm not sure, they looked like the old style Jag wire wheels but they suited the car for sure..
