Wanted - 95 onwards 940 estate

posted in the wanted section with no luck so now posting here as a lot more people look here.

Im looking for a 95 onwards 945, must have an mot, service history, no rust although small scratches etc are expected, preferably manual (m90) but id consider automatic too and a 1041 axle with g80 would be nice but id consider a car without, i believe torslandas are more likely to have 1041 axles. I can travel up to 100 miles from Crawley or about 50 from Harpenden, Hertfordshire on my days off. Seems every 940 i find that id be interested in is midlands or further which is no good to me due to my shift work.

I have a 1997 945 one owner for 18 years and full volvo service history .MOT until November. Very nice condition. Genuine car. Looking for £1250.

You've probably already done this but, could you save your criteria in ebay so it emails you cars within your distance?

Don't know if the other places pistonheads / FridayAds / Autotrader / etc offer that either?

I've been looking absolutely everywhere, i found a black celebration 940 with m90 and low miles nearby in my price range on an obscure site but when i rang it unsurprisingly had sold. I went and viewed a really nice looking low mileage blackcurrant 940 with a broken heater, i know about the matrix problems but was hopeful as it was low mileage it might be an easy fix. Went and had a look and instantly noticed all the carpets were damp, looked in the coolant bottle and it was empty, turned out he was a dealer and he admitted the matrix had been bypassed after he realised im not clueless, mot looked suspect and i found a previous insurance claim so i walked away. I considered a red 740 gl on ebay but after 2 messages and no reply i gave up on the idiot, im suprised how difficult im finding it but ive got a month yet so ill keep looking.

Id go up to £800 but itd have to be exactly what i was after, i missed out on a nice celebration model that went for £450 on ebay recently so i know what i can get for my money. Ive had a look at your ad and unfortunately being an hpt the insurance is noticeably more expensive.
