We drove all the way from the north east of Scotland to Epsom in my Renault Kangoo that was near the end of it's mot and have served me well since 2015 (£1500) and let it go for £100. Drove the Volvo back no issues en route.

The two fixed rear windows could do with new rubber trims, as well as the trim round the windscreen. Don't know if that is possible ?? My back still in pain from the drive, but have since realised the lumber support control on the drivers seat doesn't seem connected, so need to fix that as a matter of urgency. Brakes were good, but after a few miles the pedal needed pumping to get any pressure, then the brakes started to squeal badly. We reached our over night stay and next morning brakes worked as before, brilliant pedal and no squealing very strange. But will be servicing the car in the next few days. Overall absolutely chuffed to bits

Great! I loved mine.

Get it right . Keep it right. Many years of service should come from a good motor like that!

Great stuff, congrats on your purchase

The lumbar control parts are a common failure point, I've probably got a few spare bits for them but I think repair kits are available new still

Might be worth a look - always worth checking the cambelt age before trying to run it though!

For those of you who don't now know, this was bought by one of us - Tristan ("BogfordGarage" on here)

Thanks will enquire at Volvo re the lumber repair kits

It had a good clean the other day, next job is an oil and filters change and will check when the cam belt was changed. There is a huge amount of history, always Volvo serviced. Air con works, but saps a fair bit of power from the engine. The car drives great, cold start very good, but a bit lumpy on idle after it has warmed up. Will see what futher investigation can find

An M90 manual too, great find there.

Make sure your cambelt isn't due as if that goes the engine is caput.

I checked the history and the only mention of a cam belt change was in 2009 at 126k by Volvo. Shows the belt in the parts list as there was a service (160K service), but no mention of replacement pulleys/tensioner or water pump. So am trying to source a kit or items to make up a kit. Any recommendations on sourcing the items would be welcomed

Any tips I should know when changing the belt ??I heard the crankshaft pulley has a hefty torque setting

As an aside .......it was mentioned as an advisory several times on the mots, regarding a corroded jacking point. Having looked at all four, they are all in first rate condition. Seems to me if there was any such issue, the jacking points have been completely replaced and to a very high standard. So much so, it is difficult to tell if they have been replaced, they are that good ;-)

I believe the cambelt is easier to DIY if you have some special tools.

I've got the tools, not used them yet though
