Covert "towbars"
Hi,
My C70 has a covert towing device. I call it this because it has the connector bits, and and a "bar" bit I assume I clunk in to tow things. But my question is - what can it actually tow? It was on the car when I acquired it, and I've been holding off the jibes from my mates by telling everyone I use it to tow my private yacht. However, I live in a terraced house near Nottingham, henceforth the yacht excuse is wearing thin. How much are these "covert towbars" worth? I don't need, or want it really, unless I can find a better use for it than arguing it as a prop for a new comeback series of "Howards Way". Or should put some stickers all over my car and make out I own a kart racing team? - Russ

Hi,
A pic of this "covert" towbar would be handy.. It may be one where you have a removable towball. Means that when not towing that yacht you don't have there is no visible sign of a towbar... Or it maybe that the towball has been removed..? Des. . .

Towing with a removable towbar
My last three cars have had removable bars and quite simply you can tow anything that a fixed towbar can pull.
I suspect it would not be worth the effort to remove it all, just leave it where it is in case you buy a trailer to take up trials biking or Formula Ford racing! Best wishes Dennis |
