SRS Failure cured by software update
Anyone else had what I had yesterday? Car shouted at me at lunchtime the SRS Airbag system had failed AND the Auto Hold had failed. Rang my dealers who insisted I couldn't drive it the 2 miles to them, so Volvo Assist sent a flatbed for the ride.
After all of a couple of hours the dealers called me and said they had fixed it with a Software Update. How can the existing software fail the airbags...? My car is still under warranty. As and when it exits warranty and I need a software update to retain airbags, how much do Volvo charge for these?

Out of warranty Volvo will charge to fix problems and Volvo main dealers are not cheap, with labour rates around £100+ per hour. These are complex vehicles and repair costs can get very expensive, very quickly. Personally I would not want to run a car of this complexity without a warranty of some kind.
