1800 es - leaking fluid
Hi, I have had my 1972 1800 es for about 18 months and I am learning as I go. This week the car has started to leak quite badly from the underside. I have attached a jpeg (I hope) and was hoping someone can tell me what the problem might be. Fluid leak.jpgYou can see the dripping oil/fluid in the centre of the picture, thanks, Dean

This looks like the right angle speedo drive. There are are a couple of seals there that are prone to failure. Quite common but an easy fix. See Brookhouse for parts.

Hi, it might well be weeping from the rear seal also. The car has the upgraded rear crank seal set up and has had a new seal but still has a weep. Nowhere near as bad as the speedo connection though
