Hi.
If memory serves, on a run I could get 35mpg out of my 2.0i SE, but around town I think 28 was the norm. My Turbo was a little less than that, but it also only had a 9 gallon tank, so filling up was a commonplace occurence! Interestingly, the least powerful 440 I had, a 1.7 GLE carb model, had the worst mpg, (thats what happens without metered fuel I suppose...) however it did improve when I removed the cat from the exhaust. (It was a 1991 model with a 2 way unregulated cat, so it was fine to remove it). It also made it go soooo much better! Cheers, Dan. |

I average 28 around town.
Don't do many long runs, but from the little I have I'd say around 33-35. That's in a 2.0i SE |

My 2.0i 480 ES (I think B20F) gets a combined fuel economy of 32.5mpg, if the info centre computer is to be believed. I reset it when I bought it in April and haven't done so since, so this is a good mixture of motorway and round-town driving, over about 2500 miles.

30-40mpg in a 440 1.8Xi
I've filled my 440 1.8Xi twice since I bought it at the start of the month. I do a 25 mile round trip every day, mix of stop-start and 40-50mph runs.
First one worked out at just over 30mpg. But then I did spend an hour stuck in very slow traffic and was still getting used to the car. Last check was 38 mpg. That included an extra 100 mile run across motorway. I check mpg at every fill up as it is a pretty good way of spotting problems coming down the line... Ross |

On a run from Southampton to Bournemouth and back again (72 miles) I used 7 litters of petrol works out to be about 44 MPG in my 440 1.8 Si (1994).

I just went to thetford forrest and back from ipswich, 100 mile round trip, then to somerset and all round somerset and places and then back to ipswich in total including the trip to thetford is 732.2 miles. mainly on the motorways, using some weird roads that the satnav took us down, but did get us there quicker.
the mpg calculator (incase you missed it before) has figured out that for my 2.0i 440 glt with generally 5 adults in the car has done using about 90 litres of fuel (becuase im parnoid about running out) 36.97 mpg @ 99.9 p per litre averaging 12.28 p per mile. now is that good or not?the calulator says its ok, i dont think its bad for the amount of miles that i did. anyone? |

Hi,
I had a full tank when starting my home journey picking up my new V90.. A gas guzzler if ever there was one!!! But hey, it is a nice car.. Traveled from near dartford - north circular and M1 - M1 with 2 accident hold-ups and on to Nottingham. Filled up in SinBin and calculated an average of 26mpg for the 160 odd miles. Not so bad, I think, given the hold-ups in traffic in London and then again on the M1.. Des. . .
